Dating Diary, Installment 9: I Love Football!!
Tonight I had the craziest date ever! Ok, a friend of a friends, best friends brother in-law set me up with his buddy who is on Cupid. He tells me that his friend had read my profile but didn't think he met my standards so he didn't hit me up. Ok, the first thing I think is this guys gotta be like 50, fat, unemployed and living in his mothers basement... since in my profile those are the type of guys that need not apply for the job if you catch my drift! So, we talked ( he sounds totally hot) and he made all arrangements, including sending a car service for me to meet him in Manhattan at a swanky little restaurant/bar in the village. Just in case your not following me YES !!! I said he sent a car for me... ok I'm impressed yet curious to see what my date will look like since he did not have a pic on his profile.
Ok, so I get to the restaurant and I'm met at the door by a gentle men who says he is my security guard for the evening and my date will be arriving shortly. NOW... I'm like woa... who the hell is this guy. I have no clue?! The security guard, Mike, says order your drink and relax. I order a glass of champagne with strawberries, fix my lipstick and sit pretty. After about 3 minutes I hear all this commotion in the front of the restaurant but can't see what's going on. However, I hear woman going ballistic!! I mean like P. Diddy is in the room or some thing... not thinking its my date I sip my drink and continue to sit pretty. Mike comes to the table and says ,"He has arrived and would like for you to join him in the VIP area. I'm walking to the table like a woman going to death row... I'm scared, curious, happy and totally anxious!!! He is seated behind a velvet curtain when Mike opens the curtain... MY JAW DROPPED!!! All I can tell you at this point that my date is a professional football player for the New York Giants!!!! Now I understand why there was such a frenzy at the door when he entered... he's totally famous and totally hot and he's all mine for the evening. Come hell or high water I'm catching all his passes tonight!!!
We had a blast!!! Despite his celebrity he told me that dating is very hard for him and that is why he chose Cupid.com. he says he wanted to meet woman who didn't know his identity before they met him to avoid the gold diggers. Throughout dinner there were occasional request for an autograph or picture. He left each decision up to me. I told him I was ok with it and together we took the pictures. It was so cool. I'm certain the woman thought I was his wife. After dinner we went to his house in New Jersey. We played Steve Madden and ... well, all I'm gonna say is I got tackled while holdin his ball!!! I must say... I'm a hell of a receiver in my own right!! Thanks cupid!!!
