Designing Photo Personals: Presenting Your Best "Online" Side
You've entered the world of photo personals. A place where people, fairly or unfairly, look at your picture and along with your profile, decide if you have the qualities they're looking for. Let's face it, your prospective dates want to see you.
With photo personals, your picture carries as much weight as the words do. Making sure you place the best photo possible in your profile will catch the eye of the maximum number of people. It will also weed out those shallow folks who'll reject you because you remind them of a hated brother, or sister-in-law, or for some other odd reason.
Selecting a Photo
-
The best photo personals have a recent picture that is clear, with no special
effects. Candid shots are always the best. Let's see a nice, happy you.
-
Make sure it's large enough to see your face. Pictures of a little tiny you in
front of a huge ocean are nice, but won't work well in your profile. The best
profiles have a nice close-up picture.
-
Take your pictures outside! Natural lighting is always the best.
-
For your first photo, don't choose a picture with ten other people in it.
Members viewing your photo need to know who you are. Group shots are OK after
you get at least one solo picture in there. No ex-boyfriends or ex-girlfriends
either.
-
No porn... even soft porn. Keep your shirt on. Unless you have the abs of
Britney Spears or Marky Mark -- in which case put it right out there (though
you can't be totally naked)! You can always put those racy photos in your
Private Photos area.
-
Don't send in a photo of your friend and pretend it is you. Why bother with
photo personals at all if you can't be honest?
Cupid.com's photo personals are the best way to show people the real you. Hurry, someone is looking for you right now.
